Our first vintage of Napa Valley Syrah comes from Syrah sourced 72% from Yountville and 18% from South Napa where overnight temperatures tend to be cooler with lingering morning fog. We added 10% Zinfandel from a small vineyard on Ink Grade, just north of Angwin, to enhance the fruit characters of the Syrah. The grapes were hand sorted and fermented on the skins for ten days with pumpovers performed twice daily. After fermentation, the wine was gently pressed, racked and moved to French and American oak barrels for eighteen months of aging.
A perfect wine to pair with prosciutto wrapped grilled figs, barbequed ribs, flat iron steak with chimichurri sauce, risotto with pancetta and arugula, roast pork tenderloin, grilled salmon, lamb Sugo with Pappardelle or duck lettuce wraps.
