95% Petite Sirah and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark and inky hued, this wine has fragrant aromas of blueberry, plum, candied lavender and violets with a hint of chocolate. A full-bodied Petite Sirah with rich, concentrated flavors of black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black pepper, cocoa powder, spice and leather notes. Well structured with integrated tannins and a long, smooth finish.

For our first vintage of Petite Sirah, we sourced fruit from a small grower in the Yountville area of the Napa Valley. Yountville is known to have both loam and alluvial fan soils for good drainage and is more apt to experience morning fog in spring and summer, for milder afternoon temperatures than up-valley vineyards. The grapes were fermented on the skins for ten days with pumpovers performed twice daily. After fermentation, the wine was gently pressed, racked and moved to French oak barrels for sixteen months of aging. The final blend includes a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon for added depth and complexity.
A delicious wine to pair with garlic marinated pork tenderloin, roast duck with mushrooms and a red wine reduction sauce, braised wild boar or other wild game, rack of lamb with spring vegetables, spicy vegetarian Moroccan tagine, wild mushroom risotto, barbequed pork or beef ribs and spicy pasta dishes such as baked Rigatoni with hot Italian sausage.
